Teachers Take Studies Abroad During Break

Talawanda district students in two grade levels will get a different view of the world through the eyes of their teachers who took part in the new Global Masters Program taking them to different parts of the world this summer.

Bogan Elementary School teacher Kari Cooler and Talawanda Middle School science teacher Michael Bishop were among the 150 teachers elected to join the inaugural year of the Global Master’s degree program.

Teacher Draws on Underwater Studies

Arkansas does not have manatees swimming in its lakes, but a local science teacher plans to draw on her summer experiences to teach students about some of the state’s creatures.

Using her graduate school experiences, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Kathy Hopper with Cutter Morning Star High School wants to reconnect students with the interesting underwater creatures found in the Natural state.
